Piano Album is both pure and intricate, creating an interesting blend of accessibility and musical depth. Consisting of 10 improvised compositions, bringing forth Michi’s philosophy and mind through the piano. The compositions are rooted in the minimal aesthetic, utilizing rather simple motifs, capturing the simplicity of the title as simple as a Piano Album.

The compositions gradually enter complexity exposing the art of improvisation, which encapsulates indeterminacy and spontaneity, leading to key changes, rhythmic variety, avant-garde aesthetics, and more.

The album is filled with contextual easter eggs, creating layers of meanings beyond its sonic qualities. Piano Album being the abbreviation of the titles of the 10 pieces, which all have references in classical music.

Michi has cited many composers and artists during the journey including Johann Sebastian Bach, Frederic Chopin, Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel, Erik Satie, Federico Mompou, John Cage, Toru Takemitsu, Bill Evans, Ryuichi Sakamoto, and more.
